Hopes Renewed, Value Rediscovered

In the story “Happiness? Try Your Best”, Ava is a woman who has lost all hope and attempts to take her life. Subconsciously, she searches for a reason to stay. “In Hopes” is the creative nonfiction piece in the collection. This story discusses a crushing event that took place in my family. I share the new perspective I gained regarding life’s hardships despite what happened. The story “Our Room” focuses on a couple, Brian and Tess, who are both guilty of infidelity. They both make efforts to reconcile and rekindle the relationship they once had. The collection wraps up with “Discouraged Winter”. In this work, the characters are the seasons themselves. With the help of her siblings, Winter discovers beauty in the season that is her kingdom.
