I'd been trying to quit smoking because Billy, my husband, nagged me about it. Quitting to please him just made us both cranky. Then, on a typical crappy day, I stopped for gas. I went inside to buy cigarettes (screw Billy!) and found Johnny busy robbing the place.
In that moment, I saw a brighter future.
