Hubei Sights

Hubei, “E” for short, is situated in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, the hinterland of China. At the strategic location, Hubei plays a significant role in connecting east and west, north and south. The beautifully and richly endowed province has a total area of 185,900 square kilometres and a population of over 60 million. Under its jurisdiction there are 12 cities of Wuhan, Huangshi, Xiangfan, Jingzhou, Yichang, Shiyan, Xiaogan, Jingmen, Ezhou, Huanggang, Xianning and Suizhou, as well as the Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, and 3 cities of Xiantao, Qianjiang and Tianmen directly under the Provincial Government, and the Shennongjia Forest Area. The provincial capital, Wuhan City has long been called the “hub of nine provinces”.
