Compton Becket is a man in his midlife with a desire to return to his hometown and begin a new life with his partner, Chad. He returns home to the Florida Panhandle one Easter and reconnects with friends, family, and old acquaintances. After receiving a dream job offer one evening at a bar filled with the business elite of the area, they decide to move home. Compton and Chad settle into a new life filled with whispers of Compton's past.

In a brief moment six months later, everything changes and Compton is now dealing with murder, facing suspicion, and grappling with the death of one of the people he loved dearly. Set on the north coast of the Gulf of Mexico from the old Mobile Bay causeway in Alabama and running along Highway 98 through Fort Walton Beach to Apalachicola, Florida, the story unfolds and Compton finds himself embroiled in small town intrigue and murder. But who's behind all of this?
