For the four members of popular boy band Saturday, life is one big performance: their management company controls their actions onstage and off, and they're tired of the grind of touring. OUT AND ABOUT
„IF THIS GETS OUT“ ist erstmal das, was ich als typisches „Teenie“- Buch bezeichnen würde. Kitschig-bezaubernd, dabei aber in erster Linie unterhaltsam. Die Charaktere sind meines Erachtens sehr gut ausgearbeitet worden, und die Protagonisten habe ich schnell lieb gewonnen.
Positiv überrascht hat mich, dass die Autorinnen - anders als in ähnlichen Romanen - nicht alles am „Promidasein“ schönreden. So kritisieren sie die Musiklabel und die Manager*innen im Musikbuisness und machen darauf aufmerksam, was wirklich hinter der schillernd-strahlenden Hollywood-Fassade steckt. Das ist meiner Meinung nach essenziell zu erwähnen, weshalb ich diesen Aspekt sehr gut fand.
Was mir dann allerdings nicht gefallen hat war, dass am Ende alles übertrieben perfekt dargestellt wurde, was an den Haaren herbeigezogen wirkte. Abgesehen davon gab es teils auch Logik- sowie inhaltliche Fehler, die meinen Gesamteindruck des Romans runtergezogen haben.
Alles in allem aber trotzdem ein Buch, dass man durchaus lesen kann, wenn einen der Inhalt anspricht.
