A narcissist and "full-blown hoarder," McCurdy's mother, Debra, pushed her daughter into acting at age six in 1999, doling out her scarce affection in tandem with the jobs McCurdy booked (while weaponizing her breast cancer—which eventually killed her in 2013—for good measure). LOVED it
I couldn’t put the book down once i truly started reading it. I love the writing style. Its seems so naive and child-like in the beginning (when she writes from her perspective when she was still very young) and ages and matures while she also gets older. Its very clever and the content and topics discussed of cause are shocking and seem unbelievable. The ending feels very satisfying with the Author realising and finally saying out loud what her mother truly was. Truly a great book
Best book to understand
If you want to understand mental illness, showbiz and eating disorders you should read this book.
Other than that it’s well written, so catching and even funny!

Knowing she isn’t the only person that went through these types of things just makes me sad. I am so glad that she finally found her voice and is able to tell her story. I hope we can all learn from this and try to be better!
