Valek Villainous, a seasoned incubus demon who has been battling rogue angels in the mortal realm for half a century, is feeling out of sorts. After spending so much time around humans, he's starting to feel like an outsider among his own kind. But when he returns to his brother's dark kingdom, he's greeted with a surprising sight - his fearsome and ruthless brother Vesper is now happily married and glowing with domestic bliss. There, he meets Odette Blackfire, who has just returned from the mortal realm after secretly raising her niece for eight years. Tired of the political games of her family, Odette has created her own peaceful haven at the relaxation retreat.

But things get complicated when she meets troublesome client Valek Villainous - an incubus who is supposed to seduce sleeping women for their souls but can't bring himself to do it now that he's found his fated mate.
