Daniel Wolterman, FACHE, joined the Houston-based Memorial Hermann Healthcare System in 1999 and was named its president and chief executive officer in 2002. Before joining Memorial Hermann, he was senior vice president of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word Health Care System. He earned a BS in business administration and an MBA in finance from the University of Cincinnati; he completed an MHA from Xavier University. Mr. Wolterman has more than 27 years of experience in the healthcare industry and a long history of community involvement. He has served as chair of numerous organizations, including the Greater Houston Partnership, Texas Hospital Association Board of Directors, Voluntary Hospitals of America--Texas Board of Directors, and the Air Quality Task Force (at the request of Mayor Bill White). He is a board member of the American Heart Association, Houston Region and the Greater Gulf Coast Chapter of the United Way. In addition, he is an adjunct professor at The University of Texas School of Public Health and serves on the Healthcare Administration Program Advisory Council of the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
