Cynical, but tender hearted, Vicky McCabe struggles with the hypocrisy of her Irish Catholic upbringing in a blue-collar Boston neighborhood.  Lacking money, polish, or connections, yet highly ambitious, she works her way through college as a cocktail waitress at O'Shaughnessy's Pub along with her cousin Jared and "the best guys she knows."  She is swept up in a passionate romance with irresistible bartender Eric Flynn, but grapples with insecurity, envy, and a devastating blow of betrayal.  Years later, the future finds Vicky disillusioned, playing nursemaid to Jared as he copes with infidelity, divorce, and child custody battles.  A chance encounter leads Vicky to become caught in a love triangle with her former flame and his best friend, while still trying to reconcile her life with her Catholic faith.  Will a tragic twist of fate help her figure out who she truly loves before it's too late?
