Issuations: Seeking Insight Through Art

Issuations are words, art, dance or other tangible expressions of inspirations, adorations, illustrations, illuminations, insinuations and more that issue from a person's unconscious. Art has been an important part of the life of Ruth Alura Dodd from grade school. So, as you might expect, when she began to explore the intersection of religion and Jungian depth psychology, much of the result is in art. This book offers 40 examples of her work along with a brief description of one process she used in creating them. Some of these works resulted from dreams and other unconscious sources; others were mostly of conscious, planned origin. All invoke insight into the deepest areas of a human life in the attentive viewer. Art work over the period from 1960 to the present provide a summary view of her work in this, her 88th year.
