IT Delivery Worker

The first book in the series WIFM - What is in it for me. It deals with the IT delivery worker, who is fast becoming obsolete.

Snake oil does not exist. Creating a Google or an Amazon, needs a lot of time, patience, money and above all ressources in the shape of people, software, hardware etc.

And yet in the IT space every few years we have a new fad, sold to managers as the next big thing. Examples are Enterprise Java Beans and Service Component Architecture.

These are sold by expensive contractors who want to make a lot of money. They keep selling different kinds of snake oils year after year.

Delivery is a dfferent beast. It aims to make sure software is live and meets clients expectations and is not built with the latest snake oil out there.
