It's All Academic

This short tale - one of a series retold by an aged vampire - shows what can happen when two academics from different disciplines think the unthinkable... And what has to happen to make sure they don't tell anyone else about those thoughts.

The narrator is a vampire, old and wise in the ways of humans. It comes to his attention that a very disturbing paper is going to be presented at a conference.

"It's all academic..." is the story of what he does about the situation; it is introduced by his musings on academics in general, conferences, and sociologists and theologians in particular.
