Designer, architect and art critic Christopher Dresser wrote this volume on Japanese art after his travels to Japan. Throughout the book, there is an emphasis placed on Japanese ornamentation, motifs and techniques. Dresser, impacted from his travels, used Japanese designs in his own works. He is credited with establishing an Anglo-Japanese style.
