Nick Aday, a retired executive, always searched for happiness in accomplishments and financial success. After some inexplicable occurrences force Nick to doubt his firmly held beliefs about existence and rejection of faith, he starts on a journey of learning and experiencing a different, compelling truth.

Meanwhile on the other side of the world, Fatma Saleh, a Palestinian college student, begins to question her Muslim faith, in part due to all the radical and violent activity in her region.  One day, she finds herself in direct contact with this violence and the evil presence behind it, which puts her in grave danger.  She, like Nick, begins to witness otherworldly manifestations.

Nick is now on a pilgrimage trip to the Holy Land, and finds himself alone, knocking at the door of an apartment on the Palestinian West Bank.  The sun is setting, making the local landscape feel even more foreign and dangerous to him.  He is still trying to understand the events that led him to stray away from his tour group and walk for more than a kilometer to a place he did not know.  Nick is now forced to pursue this mysterious encounter involving a true leap of faith.
