The Rebels continue to defy the government and war is brewing between them and President Firis. His assistant, Timothe Berkin has plans of his own and the feud between Firis and the Rebels doesn't interest him.

Kelsey's father, Marsden, is alive and he's keeping an eye on the Rebels from the shadows. He knows that Micah must be protected because through his veins run the only hope for the future of the world. Despite his wish to win this war at all costs, Marsden hopes to remain hidden.
