Lizzy Albright, a red-headed, freckle-faced girl from Overland Park, Kansas, is celebrating her tenth birthday on Christmas Eve 1964. An impending winter storm is approaching as Lizzy and her family travel to Cordelia, Kansas, where they plan to spend the holidays with Granny in the McHale family mansion. Lizzy unexpectedly embarks on a journey to help break the horrible curse that has been placed on the royal family in the Kingdom of Ailear.
