David Amey is interviewed by world-famous author F L Ryder for the role of personal assistant at her isolated country home. Ms Ryder thought David was a woman called Amy.

Ms Ryder faces an urgent deadline for her latest novel so she gives him a trial as live-in assistant despite wanting a female. However, he becomes trapped at her home by the COVID lockdown without his personal items, including his clothing.
