Mabel

Will, a lonely vampire, meets an equally lonely older woman, Mabel, while passing through Kansas at the end of the Great Depression. She's a feisty farmer but Will discovers her physically and emotionally weakened heart. He stays to help her while drawing the suspicion of some of her neighbors in the small town nearby. This is a bittersweet chapter in Will's story, where he learns to truly help a human being and questions his purpose in life. Will he stay with Mabel, or will his worldly ways pull him back to the East coast and the big cities in search of fresh blood?
