The magic act had developed with Alice pushing herself into pretending to be hypnotised. She felt safe with Robert, becoming committed to helping him gain confidence. As time went on, she had pushed herself into the act to become an adept assistant and thoroughly convincing at being hypnotised.

Dressing up for the occasion in her classy black dress, she feels nervous in front of the boy's colleagues from work. They are older than him, older than expected so not so naive as Robert. Wanting to make a good impression for him, she joins in, letting the guys control her, performing silly things for them. Hopping around like a bunny and crawling around as a puppy.

With her dress up showing off the stockings and suspenders, she crawls from one guy to another being petted. The eldest of the audience becomes too touchy-feely, but she is too embarrassed to say anything, so carries on pretending to be hypnotised.

Before it gets totally out of control, her neighbours son calls an end to the show. Alice now has to deal with the idea that she had been stoked from being controlled by a stranger. She had been too embarrassed to stop the game and reveal she wasn't hypnotised. It was also important not to show Robert up in front of his friends.

Was the main reason she carried on because she enjoyed being controlled by strangers? She dare not think about that and denied everything to herself.

When his older brother took control of her, it became important to find out what kept her obeying him. It suddenly occurred to her that she had been deeply hypnotised and that it had been her own enthusiasm that made it so powerful. She was desperate to stop playing the game, only to find it more difficult than she thought.

Young men can be selfish, thoughtless and that combined with a high sex drive was going to prove dangerous. Alice must try to stop something bad happening, without revealing she knew what he was up to. If he found out she was aware of everything, she would be in trouble, as well as it being humiliating.
