Set in the 17th century on Manhattan Island - at the time, a land of hills, woods and streams - Manhattan Legacy tells the story of two young men. One, Jan De Kuyper, is a rapist and killer, the other, Marc Storm, seeks justice for his victim. Tomas Van Orden is a pirate hunter seeking to right a wrong.
With little else to go on in his search for the killer other than a scribbled initial in a ledger naïve apprentice Storm is drawn to New Amsterdam. He also takes with him the dreams of an old man.
