Laura Elizabeth Howe Richards was an American writer famous for her children's books, biographies and poetry. During her literary career Richards wrote over 90 works, including her especially noted children's poem – literary nonsense verse Eletelephony.

First published in 1897, The Margaret Series is a set of six novels: each novel is a new fascinating story.
