Jim's past had finally caught up with him. As he thought back on it, he could hardly remember any of it. He had been so clever about getting the two gangs in California to fight it out for the territory and the drugs as a diversion, so that he could slip away from the FBI and the greedy sheriff's department in Arizona. He thought he had pulled it off. It had all worked out as he had walked away into a new life and into a new place in the middle of nowhere. After ten years he thought that they had forgotten about him and the theft of the drug money he had taken.
