Misery and Ecstasy

I'm broken.

Haunted by trauma from my past

that defines every moment of my present.

She's the lifeline tugging me free from

an endless abyss I'm content to drown in.

With every protest I wage, she digs deeper into my frigid soul,

chipping away at the thick layer of ice surrounding it until every piece of me is laid bare.

She fights with everything she has to make me whole again…

And I surrender my entire existence to her.

Now she's mine.

Mine to love. Mine to please. Mine to protect.

But despite my connections and experience,

there are some threats even I can't protect her from.

Because not every villain is human.

And not every war can be won.
