Modern Purgatory

In Modern Purgatory, Book II of The High Comedy, Twersky is fresh out of Hell and finds himself on the beach of Mount Purgatory, home of the seven terraces aka the Seven Deadly Sins. He is lucky to find a new friend in Cato, his guide up the mountain. Each terrace has a redemption center where he must pass scrutiny in order to move up to the next terrace. It is on this treacherous climb that Twersky strives to come to terms with his own defects and weaknesses.

It is a perilous ascent, and to make matters worse, Twersky is plagued by something evil, a trickster bounty hunter who is determined to bring him back to Hell.

His goal is to reach the top of the mountain, home of the lush and lovely Garden of Eden, the last stop before the lift-off into Heaven where all Empyreans pledge to fight on the good side.
