Moonshine

Hale has known about his family curse since he was six, but he never really believed it— until his dad died four years ago, right on time. At sixteen he has a lot on his plate: asthma attacks, a wrung-out mom, her abusive boyfriend and boss, high school, and questions about his own mortality. At times he feels like he is suffocating, until he meets a blind girl with a special gift whose presence seems to improve his mood…and his breathing. Together they try to untangle the mystery of their heritage, but they soon discover the future might be as deadly as the past.
