Beschreibung des Verlags
Mr Monster is the second chilling novel in Dan Wells's John Wayne Carver series, and the follow up to I Am Not A Serial Killer - now a major motion picture.
John Wayne Cleaver has always known he has a dark side but he's fought hard to oppress it and live a normal life - separating John from Mr Monster to survive. But after confronting and destroying the vicious killer that was terrorizing his town, his inner monster is getting stronger and harder to contain.
And now more bodies are being discovered...
With the police failing to catch Clayton County's second serial killer John is going to have to use his secret knowledge of the first demon-killer to trap the second...but will he be able to avoid suspicion falling on him, and, in the face of extreme horrors, will he be able to restrain Mr Monster?
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Near-psychopath John Wayne Cleaver channels his murderous urges into taking down serial killers in this dark, fast-paced, gripping horror novel. Having slain the Clayton Killer in March 2010's I Am Not a Serial Killer, John feels a strong compulsion to draw blood again. He's fighting those urges when another serial killer starts up. Investigative agent Forman discovers John's psychiatric history and suspects him of being involved with the current string of murders, and when John finally faces his adversary, he's offered a tempting pact that he may not be able to resist. A brutal, bloody read with overtones of soft-core torture porn, this tale inevitably recalls Jeff Lindsay's Dexter novels and their TV adaptation. It nonetheless stands out with taut, sharp writing, strong plotting, vivid angst, and a compelling portrayal of a disturbed man's struggles for self-control.
