Beschreibung des Verlags
European armies' of the first half of the nineteenth century relied almost exclusively on the horse for it's transportation needs, not only to provide mounts for the cavalry and horse artillery, but also to pull the guns, ammunition wagons, and ration wagons. The field artillery was almost as a dependent upon horses as the cavalry if not more so. The train troops used by the French Napoleonic army, were far from 'sexy' or 'glamorous'. These mens importance has often been overlooked in the quest to study the cavalry or infantry and the major campaigns fought by Napoleon.
