Night Walk

In the twelfth Henry Gamadge mystery, the gentleman sleuth finds himself in the deceptively quiet village of Frazer's Mills. The peace is broken when George Carrington, a wealthy and respected resident, is found brutally murdered. The investigation is complicated by the fact that on the night of the crime, a surprising number of the town's inhabitants were out wandering the dark streets—a collective "night walk" that leaves a confusing trail of witnesses and suspects. Gamadge must piece together the movements of the nocturnal strollers to identify which one of them crossed the line from a casual walk to cold-blooded murder.
