Leanna LaFleur has everything she's ever dreamed of: a successful career as a professional photographer, a beautiful home on the San Francisco Bay, and a handsome partner with whom she's built the perfect life. But everything falls apart when she receives a cryptic phone call drawing her across time and space to a place she hasn't seen in nearly two decades.

After travelling the globe in search of herself, Leanna is called back to an Acadian village nestled at the foot of the Highlands she once called home to seek redemption and reconciliation with her roots. Coming to terms with her past and the people she left behind, Leanna faces a difficult decision: return to her old life of superficial glamour or give it all up to remain on the Island with a chance of a fresh start.
