On His Knees

She knows how to take a hit. He knows where she hurts. Neither knows how to walk away.

Saskia Rowan can make a woman bleed, a crowd roar, and a sleepless night look like nothing. With a career-defining fight approaching, the last thing she needs is someone looking too closely.

Then she walks into Dr. Ellis Arden's office.

Quiet. Beautiful. Infuriatingly controlled. The psychiatrist and scientist doesn't flinch at her temper or fall for the smile that fools everyone else. Women flirt with him shamelessly. He never gives them an inch.

Saskia tells herself she doesn't care.

Until she wants to be the exception.

Ellis knows how to hold a boundary. But every appointment brings him closer to the woman beneath the gloves: fiercely ambitious, desperately tired, and convinced she has to earn every tenderness she receives.

He wants to give her more than an hour of his time.

He wants things he has no right to ask for.

An unguarded touch becomes something neither can forget. A kiss crosses the line they have fought to protect. And when Saskia's life is in danger, the man who always knows what to say can only scream her name.

Saving her means holding on.

Loving her may mean letting go.
