Gayle is a highly successful and motivated business woman, but her success has come at a price – she hasn’t spoken to her daughters, Ella and Samantha, for years. But when Gayle has an accident at work, she realises she needs to make amends with her family.
And so she invites herself to join Ella and Samantha for their Christmas in the beautiful Scottish Highlands. The sisters are none too pleased that their mother has inserted herself into their Christmas plans. They have each other – and don’t need their mother back in their lives. Or so they think…

APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Released in late 2020, when lockdown restrictions meant no-one could be sure what the holidays would look like, One More for Christmas will inspire plenty of festive cheer wherever you read it. A brush with mortality urges award-winning business leader Gayle to reconnect with her two estranged grown-up daughters, and the trio spend the season together in the Scottish Highlands where bonds are repaired, new relationships are forged and, for one of them, love appears. Morgan’s writing is full of wit and she uses the trio’s snowy surrounds to spark a cosy Christmas spirit. Her greatest strength though is understanding human nature and relationships. These are engagingly authentic characters and their issues are convincingly complicated—you’ll have an uplifting time following them untangle their resentment and regret.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Forgiveness tops the Christmas list in this heartfelt, family-centric holiday romance from Morgan (Family for Beginners). Successful consultant Gayle Mitchell has always prioritized work over family. But after an accident lands her in the hospital, she questions her choices and reaches out to Samantha and Ella, the adult daughters she hasn't spoken to in five years. Confident Sam, the owner of Really Festive Holiday, a travel company that organizes Christmas vacations, has always resented growing up without affection, toys, or holiday celebrations thanks to her mother's hands-off parenting style. Sweet people-pleaser Ella, a teacher, is happily married and the mother of an adorable four year old but she's never told her mother about either her husband or child, fearing her disapproval. After reconnecting at the hospital, Gayle cajoles her daughters into spending the holidays with her in Scotland. The breathtakingly described highlands serve as a backdrop for moments both humorous and tender as the women reconnect and love blossoms for Sam. Morgan expertly avoids clich and easy fixes, resulting in a deeply believable portrait of a family relearning how to love each other. Readers will be delighted.
