Outcast

During the 1st century AD Rome was a powerful nation with massive armies expanding its borders. Among that army was Evander, a general who helped conquer lands and assassinate emperors. He made many enemies who sought his death. One day an attack is carried out and those who fight with him are slaughtered. Death beckons Evander’s darkened soul, but he has vengeance to reap.

Druids were looked upon by the Roman emperors as nuisances, helping to fuel rebellion. The Isle of Mona was their stronghold, but the island held more than the druids’ monuments. At a young age Jillian is feared by her family and sent into exile on the island. Jillian lives in fear, not only of the druids but herself.

When Jillian finds the nearly dead Roman soldier she does not hesitate to help. Jillian fights for the man’s life, but she is afraid of her fate upon his recovery, for he is a strong man who rants about killing and vengeance. Though she fears for herself, she protects him from a druid priestess who might use him as a human sacrifice. Can Jillian keep her secret hidden or will she become a target as the emperor attempts to rid the island of the druids?
