Mike Dawson, owner of the resort where the team stays, is known as the island's surfer-dude playboy. He's happy to show the beautiful tourists a good time, because he's all about the short-term. No risk. No commitment. He vows to help the buttoned-up doctor relax and learn what island life is all about.

Even with spiritual forces at work, she still believes running will keep her safe. Physically. Emotionally. And though Mike continues to fight the magnetic pull, he's more drawn to her each day.
