Poems for the Times

This book of poetry was inspired by the women's temperance movement, as well as the women's rights movement of the early 20th century. Many suffragettes started out as severe advocates for temperance. Susan B. Anthony was one such temperance activist. She went on to become the president of the National American Woman Suffrage Association.
