Ellie Munro, a young Scottish girl, contracts an illness that confines her to bed. Her prayers to be healed are heard by an angel who visits her promising that she will one day be healed by a miracle, and that Ellie must wait for it. Unobtrusively interwoven and integral to the story are examples of nature's wonders.
