Pray-reading the Word

Have you ever considered that the Bible is a prayer book? In this booklet, Witness Lee presents the rich practice of turning the words of the Bible into our prayer. “You can open to any page of the Bible and start to pray with any portion of the Word. The Bible is the Book, the Holy Book. Every word that proceeds out through the mouth of God is different from anything else.” When we take in the Bible “by means of all prayer and petition” (Eph. 6:18), turning it into our prayer, we are spiritually nourished. We call this practice pray-reading. When we pray-read, we are supplied, because there is really something of God in His Word; the Word of God is His very breath. If we would practice to pray-read, we would receive something nourishing and strengthening which will inwardly empower us and enliven us all the time.
