Sammy Jo Spade didn't become a detective—because with a name like that, who would take her seriously? 

She settled for being a damn good 911 operator, vintage fashion connoisseur, and low-key chaos magnet. But life gets weird the day she finds a dead man in the back of her car.

Now she's got mobsters following her, the police questioning her, and one frustratingly hot detective who thinks she's either involved—or in way over her head.
