Beschreibung des Verlags

Libby Zangle, the heroine of Rabid, fled her mildly-dark past to tackle the second-most-dreaded trail in the United States: the Pacific Crest Trail. (The Continental Divide Trail is scarier). There, she faced the icy winds of the Mojave Desert and the brutal heat of the snowless High Sierras, the choking smoke of Oregon and the vicious marmots of Washington.

Rabid is a semi-fictional account of the weird and wonderful world that Libby found on the Pacific Crest Trail, a world where time is measured by distance from Mexico, where poop is a casual conversation topic, and where hikers are stalked by the worshipful followers of their trail blogs. Darkly humorous, Rabid tells of the beautiful, high-energy, technology-permeated, sometimes-overcrowded, modern thru-hiking experience.

Rabid nonsense from a rabidly immature know-it-all without any backbone

This book is an attempt designed to be a mockery of Cheryl Strayed's world bestseller "Wild" which Libby Zangle, one extremely brave author, so brave indeed that she lacks the guts to publish under her real name, goes taking apart with a very big mouthed know-it-all and so much better even on top.
So what you essentially get is how Cheryl Strayed's Book is being mocked detail for detail unfortunately not in any humorous manner but in the very limited angle of an extremely immature and loose mouthed person who claims to be with the US Forest Service, holding a degree in geology and therefore seeing herself more fit to write books than some Cheryl Strayed who did not get a degree - right in that manner. As if a college degree ever made a good writer! Ridiculous!
Well, in one point this author hiding behind her pseudonym Libby Zangle is right: 'cause therapy ain't working; I agree, what we see here unfolded in total is a serious character deficit that truly can't be fixed by any therapy.
