Raymond

In May of 1863, twenty year old William Blount, a reluctant Confederate corporal, carries messages between the camps of the divided Confederate army in Mississippi. He meets generals - some brilliant, some brats - as well as desperate soldiers, brave civilians, and finally a woman he cannot forget.

A century later, a hard-working black community fights its own battles in the same vicinity. Beautiful Virginia runs afoul of one of the most powerful men in Jackson and events spin out of control. Once again, casualties mount in Mississippi as the combatants scramble to cover their tracks only to get entangled in the history of their homeland.
