“THE BEST ROCK N’ ROLL BOOK I’VE EVER SEEN.” — SLASH

IPPY WINNER - POP CULTURE BOOK OF THE YEAR — INDEPENDENT PUBLISHING AWARDS

Apple eBook of the Year 2011

This video enhanced eBook contains 45 minutes of documentary interviews and behind the scenes footage, as well as over 150 full resolution images.

When teenager and amateur photographer Marc Canter set out to document his best friend Saul Hudson’s rise as a rock guitarist in 1982, he never imagined that he was actually documenting the genesis of Guns N’ Roses and the making of their seminal album, Appetite for Destruction. Marc’s friend Saul became the guitarist Slash and Marc found himself front and center, documenting the band’s rise through the Sunset Strip between 1985 and 1987, capturing the band through photographs, videos and audio recordings of their most captivating performances and intimate moments. Interviews from the band and those around them during the Sunset Strip days round out Marc’s collection with stories about how they wrote music, survived on the streets and convinced MTV to air Paradise City once, in the middle of the night, even though they were banned from cable networks.

Containing original gig memorabilia including show flyers, ticket stubs, set lists, press clippings and hundreds of photographs, Reckless Road offers an unparalleled collection of content that captures GN’R before taking the throne as the top rock n’ roll act of the late 1980s and early ‘90s. A must have for any fan!
