Reportage

This book mainly consists of feature and news stories that have come about in connection with my studies in journalism in Stockholm, New York City and southern California. Here are also some stories that I have written for other purposes. Several of these texts have been published in print or digital media. From my teachers, I have learnt a lot, such as writing technique and professional ethics. For my interviews with different people, I normally brought a handful of questions, a notepad and sometimes an mp3 recorder. Many times I only needed to ask a couple of questions before the interview turned into a deeper conversation, where I was listening and asking follow-up questions. I saved some of the prepared questions until the end of the interview if there was any time left. After that I wrote the text cleanly and tried to find a common thread. Often there was something the interviewee had told me, which had not been obvious during the interview itself. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to attend all these classes in Sweden and the US.
