Mrs. E. B. Worthington was, in the real sense of the word, a pioneer in the early history of Sterling, Illinois. She was the first teacher in the area, beginning in 1838 with 5 boys and 5 girls as students. Here she takes us back to those early days writing about her trip to the west. Includes biography of husband E. B. Worthington with historical photographs. Sarah McShane Worthington entitles her summary simply--Retrospective.
