In 2007, the issue of women preaching continues to be a hot topic among black Baptists, especially in the state of Kentucky. Within the past decade, a number of Louisville-area ministers have licensed and ordained women ministers. While taking a bold stance favoring women in ministry, the action of the ministers has resulted in the dismissals of their churches from the General Association of Baptists in Kentucky, the black Baptist state convention.
