Ripples in the Water

Albert, a young frog, sets off on his journey to find his cousins who live in a pond called the Old Moat. On the way he is rescued by a flock of sparrows and helped by a friendly hare. Humph the leader of the Old Moat pond is a very large, yellow frog who is at his happiest eating and daydreaming. However, there are many dangers lurking including floods and a hungry fox. Worse still are the rumours that the leader of Park Pond is planning to try and take over the Old Moat. His name is Ticka and he has a reputation for being brutal. Follow the adventures of these amazing amphibians to find out whether they can survive the various threats to their existence.

This novel is aimed at the 6 to 8 age group. It should give any child who has had very little chance to explore fields and woods, or watch the activities in a pond, a glimpse into the lives of many wild animals. Whilst there is obviously a strong fictional element to the book, it will transport the young reader into the secret world of wildlife and nature.
