Thomas Caron’s career extends over fifty-five years, from the USA to the UK to China. He received his training at the hands of legendary Group Theatre teachers Sanford Meisner, Harold Clurman, and Robert Lewis. In 1978 he was chosen from thousands of applicants to be part of the Columbia Pictures Talent Development Workshop. He has performed the title roles of Hamlet, King Lear, Macbeth, Timon of Athens, Richard II, King John, and Ibsen’s Master Builder, as well as Romeo, Leontes in The Winter’s Tale, Prospero in the Tempest, Cassius in Julius Caesar, Vladimir in Waiting for Godot, the Cardinal in Cocteau’s Bacchus, and many other classical and contemporary roles. He produced and directed the first authorized Chinese language productions of Samuel Beckett’s Play, Footfalls, Come and Go, and What Where. In 2022 he was made a member of the Players, the esteemed club founded by Edwin Booth in 1888 in New York.
