Danny Andela is the most wanted woman in the Empire—and the enemy who controls every road between the stars wants her alone.
The galaxy believes Danny assassinated Emperor Ramaker. Only Danny and her crew know the truth: the man she killed was a clone controlled by the self-aware interstellar array. Now the Imperial Shield and Rangers are hunting her, while the array is free to punish anyone Danny cares about.
To protect her crew, Danny makes a desperate bargain and surrenders herself.
The array keeps its word in the cruelest way possible. Danny is stripped of her ship, her resources and the people she trusts, leaving her stranded, hunted and forced to rebuild from almost nothing. Every identity, weapon, ally and scrap of information must be won one painful step at a time.
But while Danny fights to reunite her scattered family and clear her name, a new Emperor rises—and the array’s influence over the Empire is becoming something far more dangerous than political power.
To survive, Danny will have to do what the Imperial Hammer has always done: improvise, endure and fight back. Because this time, defeating the array may mean taking on the Empire itself.
