In this Techno-Thriller, co-authors J Feder and Ley Preston weave the tale of Ray Mitchell, a history professor in San Francisco, who has a secret obsession for liberating black-market antiquities. He steals a 16th century golden Japanese sword from the private residence of a racketeer in Greece, believing it is key to a neglected, historical legend. However, at the end of an almost flawless heist, he collapses.

Ray’s sister Catherine, founder of a Silicon Valley technology start-up, is forced to combine her expertise and technology with that of her cheating ex-husband, who runs a brain wave research center, to help her unconscious brother. In his catatonic state, Ray experiences the sword’s history; he battles pirates and slave traders in feudal 16th century Japan; and he leads a band of samurai to rescue the daughter of a warlord only known in a forgotten legend.

The sword’s owner kicks off a well-funded and no-holds-barred chase to recover the sword in belief that it is key to her past. Catherine and her ex-husband must take Ray on the run to stay one step ahead of their unknown pursuers. Ray wakes just as the owner of the sword catches up with him and together they cull knowledge from two time periods to prove a lost history.
