Shell Game

Detective Cadillac Holland is on mandatory desk duty following an attempt on his life. Rather than deal with that drudgery he goes on vacation to help his former military school roommate out of a jam. Brian Hollis, it turns out, stands accused of stealing an entire semi-trailer of recovered antiquities that went missing from the Iraqi National Museum when American troops occupied Baghdad. Detective Holland has a history of his own with the Iraqi authorities and does not want to get back on their bad side, and he doesn't want to be considered a partner in crime by the FBI, who are hot on the trail of the trailer and his friend. Brian is less than helpful in finding a solution to the problems he has created but displays a knack for attracting more parties willing to kill him and Detective Holland to possess the trailer. The ill-considered favor leaves Detective Holland exhausted by the time he finds a solution that might save both of their lives and get the trailer where it rightfully belongs.
