Selbstfindung mit etwas Liebesroman
In "She's faking it" ist der Titel Programm. Unsere Heldin versucht sich irgendwie durchs Leben zu hangeln und hadert mit einigen Entscheidungen aus ihrer Vergangenheit. Sie stolpert in die Influencer-Szene und sieht darin die große Chance, endlich mehr im Leben zu erreichen und vor allem finanziell besser versorgt zu sein. Dass sie dafür ein geschöntes, unechtes Leben online präsentieren muss, nimmt sie zunächst billigend in Kauf. Doch natürlich kommt alles anders als geplant. Unter anderem sorgen eine Auseinandersetzung mit ihrer besten Freundin, der neue Mann in ihrem Leben und ihre nach Erfolg lechzende Schwester dazu, dass Bree ihren eigenen Weg findet und endlich sie selbst sein kann.
Das Buch ist mit Sicherheit nicht ohne Schwächen, einige Entwicklungen wirkten überhastet und aus der Liebesgeschichte hätte man viel mehr herausholen können. Und trotzdem hatte ich beim Lesen des Buches eine Mange Spaß. Bree hat etwas in mir berührt, wodurch ich gerne mehr von ihr erfahren habe und Verständnis für ihr Tun hatte. Das Buch nimmt sich selbst nicht zu ernst, was es auch mir leicht gemacht hat, nicht alles auf die Goldwaage zu legen und kleine Details zu kritisieren.
Da mich das Buch positiv überrascht hat und ich es gerne gelesen habe, gebe ich ihm vier Sterne.
