Through my mission trips to rural Kenya and my own study of God's word, I have discovered the possibility and power of living with joy. Unlike happiness, joy doesn't come and go depending on the surrounding circumstances. Rather, joy is the umbrella sheltering and protecting our lives. It's like a pair of sunglasses that we choose to put on in order to see God more clearly despite the blinding brightness of our harsh world. Joy pierces through the pain and delivers a glimpse of who God is amidst the hurt, sadness, and sorrow.
